Abstract
This presentation describes what RSS feeds are and how various libraries are taking advantage of this technology with their Integrated Library System (ILS) to deliver constantly updated information to patrons. Uses include feeds new book and other acquisitions listings, feeds created for university portals, subject guides, and course pages within Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle, Blackboard, or Sakai. While this presentation will describe various ways to create RSS feeds from Aleph and Voyager, its primary focus will be on the different ways that RSS feeds can be used to help improve service to your patrons in the Web 2.0 environment. This presentation should be useful for the beginner and expert a like no matter which ILS is used.
